System File Maintenance
34.1 Overview
This chapter shows you how to manage system files including configuration and
firmware files on the X2002.
• Configuration File - The X2002 allows you to save a configuration file to your
local computer. You should create a backup file of your configuration when you
have configured all your settings and the X2002 is functioning properly. Restore
the configuration if you are experiencing problems with the X2002.
• Firmware File - The X2002 allows you to upgrade a firmware file from your local
computer.
You can perform configuration and firmware file maintenance via web configurator,
FTP, or console.

The following terms and concepts may help you as you read through the chapter.
Configuration File Maintenance Notes
• The information related to administrator accounts and WAN/LAN network
settings on the X2002 are not saved when you create a backup configuration
file.
• When you restore a configuration file on the X2002, you do not change the
currently configured administrator accounts and WAN/LAN network settings on
the X2002.
• You must restart the X2002 manually after you restore a configuration file for
the restored settings to be applied to the X2002.
