Information for Windows 2000
In Windows 2000, you may not be able to configure your Ethernet adapter due to either one of the
following situations.
•
You did not remove the Prestige from the computer after you uninstalled the driver.
•
You installed the Prestige in the computer but did not install the driver.
When you display the Properties screen for the network adapter and select the
Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)
option, the
Properties
button is inactive.
Although you cannot configure the IP address and DNS information of your Ethernet adapter, the Ethernet
adapter retains the previous settings and you can still use it to connect to the network.
Perform one of the workarounds described below to be able to configure your Ethernet adapter again.
Physically remove the Prestige
If you are not going to upgrade to a new driver, you must remove the Prestige physically from your
computer after you uninstall the driver.
DO NOT
restart the computer after you uninstall the driver. Shut down the
computer from the
Start
menu.
