host IP addresses are configured and your computer’s IP address does not match one of
them.

Make sure that you have not disabled the Telnet service or changed the server port
number that the OMC uses for Telnet.

Ping the OMC from your computer.

If you are able to ping the OMC but are still unable to telnet, contact the distributor.

If you cannot ping the OMC, check the cable, connections and IP configuration.

I cannot use the console port to access the OMC.
Make sure you use terminal emulation software with the correct settings (default VT100
terminal emulation, 115200 bps, No parity, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit, and no flow control).
21.3 Management Lockout
You could lock yourself (and all others) out from the OMC by:

Misconfiguring the text configuration file.

Forgetting the password.

Be careful not to lock yourself and others out of the OMC.
21.4 A Line Card Does Not Become Active
V
A line card is stuck in the inactive state.
It is normal for a line card to be in the inactive state when it is starting up or the firmware is
being upgraded. If neither of these is the case, the line card may be malfunctioning. Try the
following.

The OMC can automatically restart a line card that it is managing. If the line card is
unresponsive, use the
line-card-reset
command to perform a hardware reset on
the line card.

Try removing the line card from the slot and re-installing it.
