Statutory warranty and warranty claims
Explanation of the statutory warranty
The manufacturer grants a 24-month warranty (“liability for defects”) on new goods (§ 439 and 476
German Civil Code (BGB)).
The warranty covers defects already inherent in the product at the time of purchase. If you discover
a defect, you can demand that the manufacturer repair or otherwise rectify the product.
If the seller is of the opinion that the defect only arose after the purchase, he must prove this during
the first six months. After six months, however, the burden of proof is reversed. Then the buyer has
to prove that the defect already existed at the time of purchase.
Explanation of guarantee
The guarantee is granted on a voluntary basis by the manufacturer (manufacturer's guarantee). The
duration and conditions of the guarantee can be freely determined by the manufacturer.
Manufacturer's guarantee
The manufacturer grants a guarantee of 2 years on frame breakage and 6 months on the entire bike
and its attachments. This guarantee does not cover parts subject to wear, e.g. chains, pedals,
toothed belts, tyres, wheel rims, inner tubes, bearings, gear shift mechanism, brake pads, chain
sprockets, pinions, bottom bracket, gear shift and brake cables as well as paintwork and stickers. The
warranty does not cover damage caused by failure to observe the assembly instructions or by im-
proper use (jumps, stunts, tricks, wheelies, downhill). The bike is intended exclusively for private use.
Damage caused by rental, leasing or participation in competitions is fully excluded from the war-
ranty. Repairs, conversions or other modifications to this bike carried out independently and without
consulting the manufacturer will void the warranty. The warranty will also be voided if the mainte-
nance intervals prescribed in this manual are not observed and a thorough inspection of your bike is
not carried out at least once or twice a year.
The original proof of purchase must be kept together with the service booklet in order to substanti-
ate warranty claims. With the purchase, the guarantee terms are accepted in full and without qualifi-
cation.
The following conditions apply:
-
No guarantee in the case of accident damage
-
No guarantee in the case of improper use
-
No guarantee in the case of use for purposes other than the intended use
-
