6.

Insert two AAA batteries into the battery slots as indicated by the polarity markings.

7.

Gently re-insert the fan tray into the MX250 chassis.

8.

Tighten the captive retaining screw on the face plate.

6.3

Setting the IP Addresses

The external IP address of the MX250 when it is shipped from the factory is

192.168.27.254

. The

internal IP addresses of the MX250 when it is shipped from the factory start at

172.16.0.1

.

For most applications, you should change these IP addresses before connecting the MX250 to

your network. Then configure the system through the MX Administrator software as described

in the

MX Administration User’s Manual

.

6.3.1

Activating Console Mode

Pressing the Console button during power up sets the console port to the fixed IP address of

192.168.1.100 so you can communicate with the MX250. To activate console mode:

1.

Disconnect the Ethernet ports from your system. This prevents the MX250 from conflicting

with other network devices.

2.

Ensure power to the MX250 is turned off.

3.

Press and hold the Console button.

4.

Turn power on the MX250 by using the ac cord to connect the ac input port to the wall outlet.

5.

Keep the Console button held for about 60 seconds.

The MX250 indicates it has entered console mode with the Status LED as shown in figure 7-5.

6.3.2

Accessing the User Interface

1.

Connect your PC to the console port (item 8 in figure 3-2). Configure your PC’s network

interface with an IP address of 192.168.1.111 and a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0.

2.

Access the MX250 Download page by opening your HTML browser and entering the IP

address

192.168.1.100

3.

Click on

Download Administration UI

, then open the file to install the software.

This should open the Zultys MX Administrator Login display; if the display does not appear,

double click the MX Admin icon.

4.

Enter the following values in the Login panel (logins and passwords are case sensitive):
