TESTING THE RS-4000, DIGITAL ALLY DVM-250/250+ INTEGRATION
After everything has been installed and configured, the system test is a very simple process that generally takes
less than one minute.
TESTING PREREQUISITES
Prior to testing the integration the following conditions
MUST
be true:
Road Safety ZOLL Online configurations for the RS-4000 being tested must be completed
RS-4000 must be installed and tested
RS-4000 VID’s to trigger the DVM-250/250+ camera must be saved to the RS-4000 being tested
Configurations for the DVM-250/250+ must be saved to the camera being tested
The RS-4000 Digital OUTPUT 2 orange wire must be connected to the orange wire of the DVM-250/250+
RJ45 wire harness
TEST PROCEDURE
1.
Ignition switch must be activated.
2.
Wait for the DVM-250/250+ to boot up, the green LED will be solid when it’s complete.
3.
Manual Record Test –
a.
Press the RED RECORD button on the front of the mirror.
b.
SUCCESSFUL TEST?
The red status indicator will blink indicating its recording.
c.
After ten seconds, press the record button again to stop the recording.
4.
Triggered Record Test –
a.
Engage the brakes, place the vehicle in reverse.
b.
The backup tone will begin to sound. At this point the “Spotter” timer has begun.
c.
After 20 seconds* the Road Safety speaker will sound indicating a “Spotter Violation” has
occurred because the spotter switch has not been depressed.
d.
SUCCESSFUL TEST?
– At the same time the alarm tone begins the RS-4000 should** send a
trigger to DVM-250/250+ to begin recording because a violation has occurred. The red recording
light on the mirror will be the indication of a successful test.
*
The Spotter Switch violation time is a configurable value in ZOLL Online. 20 seconds is a suggested amount of time but it may be different
based upon the agency.
** VID 235(spotter violation) must be configured to send the 12VDC pulse out the RS-4000 Digital OUTPUT 2.
