• Receiver: 9 Vcc 14 mA

• CAT II

• Maximum Altitude: 2000 m

• Maximum Operating Temperature: 40 °C (104 °F)

• Pollution Degree 2

• Maximum Humidity of 80%

• This device is for indoor use only.
If the device is used in a manner not specified here, then the

protection provided by the device may be impaired.

2. INSTALLING THE BATTERY

Lift tab on bottom end of clip to release end cap.
Slide 9 Vcc battery into compartment, terminal side

first, matching (+) and (-) terminals from battery

to case.
Slide the clip onto

the receiver, pressing

down on battery

until both pieces

snap together.

3. LOCATING A CIRCUIT
Note: A small percentage of circuit boxes are mounted

with breakers oriented vertically. See diagrams for

proper receiver orientation.

Connect the transmitter to a circuit you want to identify.

The LED will blink approximately five seconds and then glow

solid indicating the transmitter is functioning.
In a three phase application, the transmitter may be connected

between any power line and neutral or from line-to-line in both

wye and delta type power configurations.

In no event may the

Breaker ID Pro Transmitter be used where the voltage across

the transmitter exceeds 277 Vca, as this will cause failure of

the device with consequent damage beyond repair.

Go to the circuit panel. Turn on the receiver and hold it against

the breaker as shown.

It is important to hold the receiver at an angle so that the entire

CONTACT AREA of the receiver touches each circuit breaker.

Slowly scan the receiver over all breakers. This calibrates the unit.

During this first pass while the unit is calibrating, the receiver

may indicate more than one breaker. This is normal. If you have

more than one panel, be sure to perform this step on each panel.

Do not turn off the receiver.

Perform a second pass over the breakers.

When the green

LED glows and the buzzer sounds, you are directly over the

breaker connected to the transmitter.

Turn off the breaker.
Verify that the red LED on the transmitter is off, indicating a dead

circuit, before beginning work.

4. CLEANING AND STORING THE UNIT

Clean transmitter with dry cloth only. Do not expose product

to liquids.

Locating a breaker when you have to turn off a circuit can be a

real problem. Take the guess work out of finding the right breaker.

Solutions

No indication, i.e., no

green LED and buzzer.

Multiple indications

on second scan.

Tracing circuit

connected to

light fixture.

Receiver indicates

breaker above the

correct one.

• The breaker for that circuit is not in

the box being scanned.

• Circuit not live.
• Transmitter is dead.

• The first scan was performed

too quickly.

• Receiver is held horizontally

with only the tip of the receiver

contacting the breaker and not

an angle (see illustration in Step 3).

• Scan the box that supplies that circuit.
• Turn on circuit.
• Call customer support at

(800) 788-0233

• Scan again, moving the receiver

slowly. Be sure to keep the nose of

the receiver close to the breaker and

maintain proper orientation.

• Use an outlet adapter. Screw the

adapter into the socket, then plug

the transmitter into it. Or plug an

extension cord into the adapter,

then plug the transmitter into the

extension cord.

• Hold the receiver at an angle so

the entire CONTACT AREA of the

receiver touches each circuit breaker

(see illustration in Step 3).
