Air preparation unit
Compressed air provided to the device must be preliminarily cleaned. Achieving quality of supply
air class 4 (according to ISO 8573-1 norm), required to power pneumatic devices produced by
ZIGLER POLSKA company, is obtained using an air preparation unit.
Implemented air preparation unit consist of following elements [Fig. 5]:
Cut-off valve [pos. 1] - it either opens or closes air supply to the control system and
operating elements of an applicable working subcomponent.
Pressure reducing valve keeps the working (output) pressure at a constant value with high
precision, independent of the pressure fluctuations in the system (at the inlet) and air
consumption. Input pressure must always be higher than the working pressure. The output
pressure set on the control valve is indicated by the control pressure gauge.
Compressed air filter – purify air collected from installation from small solid particles and
droplets of moistness. Particles bigger than 40
µ
m (depending on filter cartridge) are
stopped by sintered filter and liquid substances are stopped by special devices separated
from filter container. Condensate gathering in filter container should be removed in periods
of time by unscrewing triggering screw. By using micro filters it is possible to obtain special
clean air. Micro filter purifies almost entirely air draw in to control systems from even
smallest droplets of oil and water and also from particles of contamination. During that air
is filtered in 99,999% (up to 0,01 micrometers).
Oil lubricator – enriching purified air with dispensed oil mist. Amount of oil mist dispensed
to air is proportional to amount of air flow. Oil is draw in from container [pos. 6] and
distributed by air flow. Lubricator begins to work at the point where high enough flow is
reached.
