Channel Control Functions
Some of the following buttons may be present in the channel control section of your
console. The abbreviation to the right of the button name is the name typically found on
the button label.
Select (SELECT/CALL)
A channel is selected by pressing its
SELECT
button. Pressing the
SELECT
button also
unselects all other channels. The button’s green LED indictor illuminates while the
channel is selected. The second LED of this button is usually a Call Busy indicator. This
red LED blinks while the channel is receiving audio (Call), and stays on continuously
when the channel is being transmitted on by its own or any other console position (Busy).
Warning!
Do not change the group or system during emergency
reception. Specifically this means do not press the Group Up,
Group Down, or System buttons during emergency reception.
It is safe to use these buttons again only after Clear Alert is
pressed. Changing the group or system before or at the same
time a Clear Alert is pressed will cause Orion EDACS radios to
lock up, requiring a reset at the radio.
