Initiating and Clearing an Emergency Call
The iDEN EMERG button is used to both initiate and clear an emergency call. The
distinction between the two functions is determined by how long the button is held down
before release. If the button is held down for less than three seconds before release, the
console acknowledges this as a request to initiate an emergency group call. Since the
iDEN EMERG button has to be released to initiate the emergency call, the call
immediately goes into “Hang.…” The Transmit button must then be pressed to continue
transmitting, if audio is to be passed.
If the iDEN EMERG button is held down for three seconds or more before release, the
console acknowledges this as a request to clear the emergency group call. This applies
only to emergency calls initiated by the console. Emergency calls initiated by a radio in
the field must be cleared by the radio that originated them.
Changing the Radio Talkgroup
The TLKGRP UP/DOWN and TLKGRP SELECT buttons are used to change the radio
talkgroup. To change the talkgroup, highlight the channel and click either TLKGRP UP or
DOWN. The current radio ID in the channel display is replaced with the name of the next
programmed talkgroup. The name is displayed flashing in yellow. Continue to press either
the TLKGRP UP or DOWN until the desired group is identified. Then click TLKGRP
SELECT to complete changing the group. To cancel the selection process press the left
mouse button over any channel display.
If a call comes in on the channel where talkgroup is being scrolled through, the channel
icon display is updated to show the caller group or ID, but the talkgroup scroll is not reset.
If operator continues to scroll, it should start where it was interrupted. However, if
transmit activity or iDEN command is initiated on that channel, the talkgroup is reset.
Ending the Call
The END CALL button terminates an iDEN private call or removes the radio from an
iDEN group call.
Resetting the Radio
The radio can be reset from the IntegratorRD Misc menu by clicking iDEN RESET.
Pressing this button commands the radio to perform a full reset of the radio as if the radio
had been powered up. The reset process takes about 20 seconds to complete, during which
time the radio can not send or receive calls.
Sprint Direct Connect (SDC) Functions
Incorporation of SDC interface support into the IntegratorRD adds an SDC Call submenu
and the option of adding SDC-specific buttons to the main screen, so calls can be made on
each SDC radio. A Call Window can be enabled, which has two sub-windows. The first
tab displays the Call History Window to show a list of received status codes, call alerts,
and private calls. The second tab displays the Subscriber List window to show the
