INTRABEAM Water Phantom
Preparations for use
Setting up the water phantom
Select a stable table (laboratory bench) with a level tabletop which stands
firmly and doesn't wobble.
Place the water phantom on the table positioned so that you have a good
view of the measuring chambers through the window.
Also place the water phantom on the table so that sufficient light falls through
the opposite window (from the rear).
If the light incident falling through the rear viewing window is not sufficient,
place a light source behind the water phantom.
Filling the water tank
You may fill the water tank only with deionized water. Any other fluid would
falsify the measurement result.
•
Remove one of the cover plates from the top of the water tank and set it
aside.
•
Fill the water tank with deionized water up to the upper edge of the view-
ing window.
•
Reattach the cover plate to the water tank properly.
Insert the IC ionization chamber in the measuring chamber.
The IC ionization chamber is a sensitive sensor. The visible film is the sensor
window.
NOTE
If you touch the sensor window, you may damage the IC ionization chamber
up to the point of malfunction.
•
Do not touch the sensor window, touch the IC ionization chamber only
on its side or on its cable.
•
Read through the operating instructions of the IC ionization chamber
carefully.
