9.1 Requirements to Run the Focal CC

GeminiSEM, Merlin, or Sigma series microscopes equipped with a stage mounted ultramicro-
tome. Sigma series require an upgrade to the vacuum system. For the compatibility of Merlin
Compact SEMs, contact a ZEISS service representative. Refer to

SmartSEM V06.03 or higher for GeminiSEM series microscopes (GeminiSEM 300 CC, Gemi-
niSEM 300 VP, GeminiSEM 450, GeminiSEM 450 VP)
§
SmartSEM V06.06 or higher for Sigma series microscopes (Sigma 300, Sigma 300 VP)
9.2 Applicable Standards and Regulations
Observe all general and country-specific safety regulations as well as applicable environmental
protection laws and regulations.
We declare under our sole responsibility that the Device is covered by the CE Declaration of Con-
formity of the Zeiss Electron Microscope.
The Device and its accessories have been classified as instrument category 9 (laboratory equip-
ment or comparable standard). It also comply, as applicable, with the EU-regulations 2011/65/EU
(RoHS) and 2012/19/EU (WEEE).
