Important remarks
Before using the ZRM 6014 for the first time, read chapter 2 “Safety information” in the instruction
manual. This quick guide only explains the basic functions / operation steps.

On/Off and calibration
Before removing the instrument from its carrying case, turn it on by
pressing the on/off button
at the back of the screen. Then press the
symbols
and
to open the calibration function. Trigger the
calibration by pressing
. Tap on
to confirm the
calibration and to get back to the measure mode. For more information
refer to chapter 5 “Setting-up” or chapter 7 “Calibration” in the instruction
manual.

Removing the ZRM from its carrying case
Grasp the handle and first lift the back part of the unit to release the
ZRM 6014 from its calibration standard. To put the unit back in its
carrying case, first insert the wheels and then the back part of the unit.
Always store the calibration standard in the carrying case.

Adjusting the handle
Put the handle in upright position, by turning the release turning knob and pulling the handle. Make
sure that the handle snaps into place. Now press the height shifting knob and move the display to
your desired height. Tilt the display forward or backward to the ideal viewing angle by turning the
release turning knob. To stow the handle back into the horizontal position, first retract the handle to
its minimal extension, then fold it back down.
Always adjust the handle to the lowest height position, before folding it back down.

Measure mode
For the correct positioning refer to chapter 9 “Measure” in the instruction manual. To make a single
measurement, place the device on the road marking and press the measuring button
. The
measured values are displayed on the top of the touchscreen. When doing several successive
measurements, the last measured value is always shown in the first line. Pressing the measuring
button always returns the device to the measure mode. For more information on the measure
mode, refer to chapter 8 “Measure”, for changing the measure mode settings, refer to chapter 13.3
“Measure mode” in the instruction manual.
