Saving to File
9.5
(1)
Take a USB 3.0 drive that the encoder will write to and connect it to USB1 (the top USB port). Note
that USB 3.0 is recommended to ensure that it is fast enough to write the encoded data to.
*
Note:
The drive must be formatted in either FAT32, NTFS, VFAT, EXT3, or EXT4 format. exFAT is not
currently supported.
(2)
On the “CH1” tab, set “Output Format” to “TSFILE” from the dropdown menu.
(3)
In “Dest Address” type in the name of the file to save to.
(example: /media/sda1/test_4k2k.ts will save a file entitled “test_4k2k.ts” on a drive in the USB1
port)
(4)
Check if the encoder has already auto-started (the encoder will auto-start if it senses a valid input
and 20 seconds have elapsed since the Z3-HE4K-01 came up). If it has auto-started, click on “stop.”
The status will then change to “STOPPED.”
(5)
Click on “start” to begin encoding. You will see the left status LED start to flash. This indicates the
encoder is running.
(6)
At this point, the menu should match the following:
