Encoding Composite Video
The Q603-10 also supports encoding from a composite video source. If this is desired, a composite RCA
cable is needed. Some other Q603 products support composite input via U.FL. Check with your account
manager to see what is available for your product.
(1)
Connect the yellow connector to the composite output of your video source.
(2)
Connect the red and white connectors to the analog audio outputs of your video source.
(3)
Connect composite RCA cable into the yellow Composite In on the interface board of the Q603-10.
(4)
Return to the user interface.
(5)
If necessary, click on the “
Stop
” button in the “
Channel Controls
” se
ction of the user interface CH1
tab or the “
Stop All
” button in the lower right corner of the screen of any tab.
(6)
At the CH1 tab,
change the “Video Source” to “Composite” using the dropdown menu.
(7)
Verify your remaining settings are as desired. See Section 13.0 for a detailed list of all options.

Click the “Start” button.

Changing the Bitrate Dynamically
The Q603 supports dynamically changing the bitrate without stopping and restarting the encoder.
(1)
Verify the unit is currently encoding and streaming to the VLC media player.
(2)
In VLC, click on “Tools” and select “Codec Information.”
(3)
Select the “Statistics” tab. In this tab, you can see the curr
ent video + audio bitrate.
