Figure 10. Plus+ Design Laout and IC Configuration Relationship
To facilitate the layout design, the Plus
+
Design Layout Tool enforces several design decisions and
checks. For example, calculating the number of CICs, 48V PSUs and redundancy modules required
based on the equipment loading.
Important:
On completion of a Traffic Junction Design (STS Drawing) the Plus+ Design Layout Tool will
be used to generate the Plus+ Design Layout Configuration. This configuration can either be
imported directly to a controller or passed to the Plus+ Installation App.
The STS drawing contains all the pertinent information for on- street cable connections and
should be referred to accordingly.
When a Traffic Junction is being built up, within a depot or out on street, the Plus
+
Installation App
provides an easy method (scanning) to populate the Plus+ Design Layout Configuration with the serial
numbers of the relevant Nodes.
It is this mapping between Nodes, having a defined function, and the serial number of the physical
Node that is going to implement the function that ensures the configuration from IC4 is implemented in
the controller when on street.

+
Design Layout Tool can be found in the Plus

2.4. Plus
+
: Key Considerations
2.4.1. Reserve State
The reserve state, in Plus+, is slightly different from the standard ST950 controller.
•
Ped Phases are no longer inhibited
•
The user can now add and should include Ped stages in the Fixed Time sequence.
•
A Stand-alone pedestrian stream obeys the Fixed Time stage durations, which allows the vehicle
stage time to be set longer than the usual Ped VA maximum or FVP period to reduce the impact
on the traffic given that the ped stream is cycling continuously.
•
For pedestrian-only stages, the Fixed Time stage duration can be set to 0 so the ped phase
minimum green time(s) controls the period of stage.
•
Audible devices all switched off
•
Tactile devices continue to operate, but ignore tactile disable control from Special Conditioning
(the SCTACDIS mnemonic)
•
I/O is unavailable so Wait / Demand Indicators illuminate and on-crossing clearance periods run
to max.
