3.  Installation

IMPORTANT

•  When welding piping during construction, take

care not to allow welding currents to flow through
the transmitter.

•  Do not step on this instrument after installation.
•  For EJ

430

, EJ

440

 and EJ

438

the atmospheric opening is located on the low
pressure side cover flange. For EJ

530

 and

EJX630A whose capsule code is A, B, or C, the
pipe of the atmospheric opening is located on the
pressure detecting section. These openings must
not face upward.

3.1  Mounting

■  The transmitter can be mounted on a nominal

50 mm (2-inch) pipe using the mounting bracket
supplied, as shown in Figure 3.2 and 3.3. Tighten the
(four) bolts that hold the transmitter with a torque of
approximately 39 N·m {4 kgf·m}.

3.2  Mounting the Diaphragm Seals

IMPORTANT

•  Please use a gasket with an inside diameter (ød)

that is greater than the diameter of the diaphragm
seal. If a gasket with a smaller inside diameter is
used, the diaphragm may not function correctly.

•  During the diaphragm seal installation, ensure as

far as possible that no seal liquid head pressure is
applied to the diaphragm seals.

•  Exercise care so as not to damage diaphragm

surfaces. Since the diaphragm protrudes approx.
1 mm from the flange surface, do not place the
pressure detector section face down on a surface
as this can damage the diaphragm.

•  Do not sharply bend or twist capillary tube or apply

excessive stress to them.

•  Never loosen the four bolts securing the cover

flange or the screws at the joints between the
capillary tube and cover flanges. If the seal liquid
leaks, the transmitter cannot be used.
