Troubleshooting, Maintenance, and Inspection

4.1  If a Problem Occurs

Faults and Corrective Actions

If servicing is necessary, or if the instrument does not operate properly even after you have attempted 
to deal with the problem according to the instructions in this section, contact your nearest YOKOGAWA 
dealer.

Problems and Solutions

The CA700 does not turn on.

Check that the remaining battery power is sufficient.

Check that the batteries are inserted correctly.

The power turns off.

Check that there is sufficient remaining battery power.

The display is dark.

Adjust the contrast.

Press the backlight key to turn on the backlight.

Confirm that the ambient temperature and humidity are within their specified ranges.

Confirm that the display is not being affected by noise.

Make sure that the measurement leads are properly connected.

Restart the CA700.

Press HOLD to release the display hold mode.

Check that the remaining battery power is sufficient.

Check that the “Function” is set properly.

Check that the source and loop power supply are on.

Check that connections are correct.

Confirm that the ambient temperature and humidity are within their specified ranges.

Allow the instrument to warm up for at least 30 minutes after turning on the power.

USB devices or the CA700 does not operate properly.

If you turned the CA700 on with USB devices connected to the USB ports for peripherals, turn 

the CA700 off, remove the USB devices, turn the CA700 back on, and then connect the USB 

devices. After turning off the power, wait at least 10 seconds before you turn it back on.

Unable to configure or control the instrument through the communication interface.

Check the address settings.

Match the address used in the program to the CA700 address.
Confirm that the interface meets the electrical and mechanical specifications.
