1.5 Description of Technical Terms
The following table shows the meanings of terms used in this manual.
Term
Meaning
Base Block (BB)
Power supply to the motor is turned off by shutting off the
base current to the power transistor in the SERVOPACK that
supplies power to the motor
Cursor
A mark that indicates the input position of data displayed on
the digital operator
Digital Operator
Hand-held operator connected to SERVOPACKs
Feedback Module
Feedback Option Module for Sigma-5 series and Sigma-7
series SERVOPACKs
Linear Servomotor
A linear Sigma series SGLGW, SGLFW, SGLTW, or SGLC
servomotor or a linear Sigma-7 Series SGLG, SGLF or
SGLT servomotor
Rotary Servomotor
A generic term used for a Sigma-5 Series Rotary Servomotor
(SGMJV, SGMAV, SGMEV, SGMGV, SGMSV) respectively a
Sigma-7 Series Rotary Servomotor (SGM7J, SGM7A,
SGM7P or SGM7G) or a Direct Drive Servomotor (SGMCS
or SGMCV). The descriptions will specify when Direct Drive
Servomotors are excluded.
