Batteries for Servomotors with Absolute Encoders
If you use an absolute encoder, you can use an Encoder Cable with a Battery Case connected
to it to supply power and retain the absolute position data.
You can also retain the absolute position data by supplying power from a battery on the host
controller.
Note: A Battery Case is not required if you use a Servomotor with a Batteryless Absolute Encoder.

Using Encoder Cables with Battery Cases
A Battery Case is attached to an Encoder Cable with a Battery Case. To replace the battery,
obtain a Lithium Battery (JZSP-BA01) and mount it in the Battery Case.

NOTICE
Install a battery at either the host controller or on the Encoder Cable.
If you install batteries both at the host controller and on the Encoder Cable at the same time,
you will create a loop circuit between the batteries, resulting in a risk of damage or burning.
When connecting a battery, connect the polarity correctly.
There is a risk of battery rupture or encoder failure.
1. You cannot attach the Battery Case to Encoder Cables for Incremental Encoders or Battery-
less Absolute Encoders.
2. Install the Battery Case where the surrounding air temperature is between -5
