Parking brake lever

Setting the parking brake lever will help keep
the vehicle from moving while parked.
To engage the parking brake, pull the lever
firmly.
To release the parking brake, pull slightly on
the lever, press the release button, and then
push the lever to its original position.

TIP



Spring tension helps return the lever to its
original position.



If you drive the vehicle with the parking
brake engaged, a buzzer will sound.

YCC-S and shift modes

This vehicle is equipped with a sequential 6-
speed + 1 reverse transmission controlled by
the Yamaha Chip Controlled-Shift system
(YCC-S).
The drive select lever is used to shift the
transmission into forward drive (D), neutral
(N), and reverse (R). (See page 5-24.)
YCC-S has one manual and two automatic
shift modes for the forward gears, which are
changed using the shift mode selector.
