It utilizes four CINEMA DSP engines and permits
lossless decoding of 192kHz signals, while providing
3D processing that gives the sound field an extra
vertical dimension. In its full 11-channel
configuration setting it adds two presence and two
rear presence speakers, offering the enjoyment of a
completely new sound stage.

Creating Sound Fields Based on Actual Data
Yamaha DSP uses a unique measurement technique
called Closely Located Four-Point Microphones and
powerful data storage capabilities to capture sound
field data from excellent acoustic venues such as
famous concert halls and jazz clubs around the
world. This real-world data forms the basis for the
sophisticated sound fields that are achieved through
Yamaha’s exclusive Digital Sound Field Processing.

Like Having a Perfect Seat at a Famous Venue
Based on data recorded in famous entertainment
venues around the world, these programs reproduce
the original sound field of the performance spaces in
your room. You have a choice of various sound
fields, such as Concert Hall that reproduces the rich
reverberations of the shoebox type concert halls in
Vienna, Jazz Club that conveys the energy of a live
club in New York, and Rock Concert that brings you
the exciting atmosphere of a rock venue in Los
Angeles.

For Amazingly Realistic Sound from Movies and
Other Entertainment Choices
Yamaha’s DSP expertise eliminates the differences
between the acoustic environments of movie
theaters and home theater rooms. You can enjoy
dynamic surround sound that is actually closer to
what the director intended than you hear in a
movie theater. Movie program choices include
Spectacle for movies with strong visual impact,
Sci-Fi for SFX movies, Adventure to emphasise the
sound of action movies, and General (Drama) for
romantic movies. There are also programs that let
you enjoy various types of entertainment such as
musicals, operas, sportscasts and games with
greatly increased dynamic presence. These
programs are effective with both multi-channel and

CINEMA DSP 3D and CINEMA DSP HD

The RX-V3800BL features surround sound
processing with the enhanced capability of CINEMA
DSP 3D. By using two presence speakers in addition
to the four FL/FR and SL/SR speakers, the sound
field is given an extra vertical dimension. Pressing
the 3D DSP button provides a sound field that
expands both upward and downward. HiFi DSP
programs sound more natural, closer to the feeling
of actually being in a concert hall with a high
ceiling or a small live house where the sound seems
