Notes Regarding the Use of
Network Switches
We recommend a gigabit-compatible network switch that
provides functions for controlling and monitoring the
network (such as QoS).
Do not use the EEE functionality (*) of network switches
on a Dante network.
Although mutual power consumption settings between
switches that support the EEE functionality are adjusted
automatically, there are some switches for which such
mutual settings are not adjusted correctly.
This may cause EEE to be enabled in Dante networks when
it is not appropriate, resulting in poor synchronization
performance and occasional dropouts.
Therefore we strongly recommend the following.
• If you use managed switches, please disable the EEE
functionality. Do not use switches that prevent EEE
functionality from being disabled.
• When using unmanaged switches, do not use switches
that support EEE functionality. EEE functionality cannot
be disabled for such switches.
* EEE (Energy Efficient Ethernet) is a technology that
red u ces s w itch po w er cons u mption d u ring periods of lo w
net w ork traffic. It is also referred to as Green Ethernet and
IEEE 8 02.3az.
About Dante Controller
Dante Controller is a software application that allows
configuration and audio routing of Dante networks. Use
this application if you plan to connect or set up Dante-
enabled devices that do not feature RSio64-D-native
support. Please download the Dante Controller application
from the website listed below.
Please note that Dante Controller Version 3.2.1 or later
supports RSio64-D.

To run Dante Controller, a computer must feature a GbE-
compatible Ethernet connector.
Refer to the Dante Controller owner’s manual for details on
Dante Controller.
Connecting AC Power
1.
Turn the unit off.
2.
Connect the plug on the AC power cord to the
AC IN connector on the rear panel of the unit.
3.
Connect the other side of the plug on the AC
power cord to a power supply socket.
NOTE
• When remo v ing the AC po w er cord, perform these steps in
re v erse.
• Press the latch bu tton on the pl u g to disconnect the po w er
cord.
WARNING
• The RSio64-D has b een designed ass u ming it a proper
gro u nd connection is u sed. To pre v ent electrical shock and
damage to de v ices, u se the incl u ded AC po w er cord to
create a sec u re gro u nd connection. If yo u do not kno w ho w
to make a proper gro u nd connection, contact yo u r Yamaha
dealer.
• Be s u re to u se only the incl u ded po w er cord w ith this u nit.
Use of a different po w er cord co u ld res u lt in a b normal heat
and electrical shock.
CAUTION
• Be s u re to t u rn the po w er off b efore connecting or
disconnecting the po w er cord.
• E v en w hen the po w er s w itch is t u rned off, a small amo u nt of
c u rrent is flo w ing thro u gh the u nit. When yo u are not u sing
the prod u ct for a long time, make s u re to u npl u g the po w er
cord from the po w er s u pply o u tlet.
Power on and off
To prevent loud sounds that might harm your hearing or
damage equipment downstream, poweron each unit in the
order of the signal flow. When turning the power off,
reverse this order.
