MIDDLE GEAR

REMOVING THE MIDDLE DRIVE PINION
GEAR SHAFT

1. Straighten:

• punched portion of the middle drive pinion

gear nut

2. Loosen:

• middle drive pinion gear nut

NOTE:

Secure the middle drive pinion gear shaft in
the vise with a clean rag.

3. Remove:

• middle drive pinion gear nut
• middle drive pinion gear
• shim(s)

REMOVING THE MIDDLE DRIVE SHAFT

1. Remove:

• drive shaft coupling nut

• washer
• drive shaft coupling

NOTE:

Use the coupling gear/middle shaft tool

hold the drive shaft coupling.
