REMOVING THE AC MAGNETO

1. Remove:

• AC magneto rotor nut “1”
• Washer

TIP

While holding the AC magneto rotor “2” with the
rotor holding tool “3”, loosen the AC magneto ro-
tor nut.

2. Remove:

• AC magneto rotor “1”

(with the flywheel puller “2”)

• Woodruff key

NOTICE

ECA21740

To protect the end of the crankshaft, place an
appropriate sized socket between the fly-
wheel puller center bolt and the crankshaft.

TIP

Make sure the flywheel puller is centered over
the AC magneto rotor.

INSTALLING THE AC MAGNETO

1. Install:

• Woodruff key
• AC magneto rotor
• Washer
• AC magneto rotor nut

TIP

• Clean the tapered portion of the crankshaft and

the AC magneto rotor hub.

• When installing the AC magneto rotor, make

sure the woodruff key is properly seated in the
keyway of the crankshaft.

2. Tighten:

• AC magneto rotor nut “1”

TIP

While holding the AC magneto rotor “2” with the
rotor holding tool “3”, tighten the AC magneto ro-
tor nut.
