Note On/Off Parameters
Receive Note On (RcvNoteOn)
Settings:
on, off
This determines how the selected drum
sound responds to MIDI Note On messages.
Normally, this should be set to on so that
the corresponding drum sound plays when
a MIDI Note On message is received. Set
this to off when you want to keep the se-
lected drum sound from playing.
Receive Note Off
Settings:
on, off
This determines how the selected drum
sound responds to MIDI Note Off mes-
sages. When this is set to on, the selected
sound will stop in response to the corre-
sponding MIDI Note Off message. An on
setting is good for some sustained sounds
(like a whistle), whose duration you want
to control or for key-controlled cymbal
“chokes.” For most drum sounds, how-
ever, this should be set to off so that the
drum sound plays back in its entirety (is
not cut off).
Output Assignment
Output Select (OutPtSel)
Settings:
stereo, ind1+2, ind1, ind2
This determines the output configuration for
the selected drum sound. When set to “ste-
reo,” the drum sound is output (with effects)
through the main OUTPUT and PHONES
jacks. When set to one of the “ind” (indi-
vidual) settings, it is output (without effects)
through the INDIV. OUTPUT jacks. When
set to “ind1+2,” the drum sound is output
in stereo (1: left, 2: right). Settings of “ind1”
and “ind2” output the drum sound in mono
to the corresponding jack. (Drum sounds
output through the INDIV. OUTPUT jacks
cannot be heard through the PHONES jack.)
NOTE
The Output Select Lock parameter (page 158)
must be set to “off” in order to change this
setting.
