Cruising in other conditions
Cruising in salt water
After operating in salt water, flush the cooling
water passages with fresh water to prevent
them from becoming clogged. Also rinse the
outside of the outboard motor with fresh wa-
ter.
Cruising in muddy, turbid, or acidic water
Water in some areas can be acidic or with a
lot of sediment in it, such as muddy or turbid
(cloudy) water. After operating in such water,
flush the cooling passages with fresh water to
prevent corrosion. Also rinse the outside of
the outboard motor with fresh water.
