Make sure the upper oil ring’s end gap is
positioned correctly, then install the pis-
ton.

Install the piston with the “UP” mark on
the piston crown facing towards the fly-
wheel side.

NOTE:

Make sure the “N” mark on the piston
ring faces upward.

When installing the oil ring, first install
the expander ring and then the side rails.

After installing the piston rings, check
that they move smoothly.
2. Offset the piston ring and oil ring end
gaps as shown.
