The MARK-V FT-1000MP
Field
cooling system is
designed to handle continuous duty transmission
at 100 watts output. However, for continuous-duty
digital modes like RTTY, we recommend limiting
your transmissions to 3 minutes or less, with at
least 3 minutes receive in between transmissions.
Place your hand on the transceiver occasionally to
ensure that it’s not getting too hot, and try to keep
power output at 50 watts or less.
You can limit the maximum RF power output to 25
watts via programming, by recalling
menu selection
4-0 and choosing reduced power output.
