PA Unit Adjustment
Preparation

Connect the 50-Ohm Dummy Load and Watt -
meter to the “ANT 1” jack.

Disconnect the coaxial cables from J5001 and
J5007 on the PA Unit, then terminate J5001 and
J5007, each with a 50-Ohm resistor.

Disconnect the jumper plugs from J5003 and
J5005 on the PA-A Unit.
Pre-Drive Stage Idling Current Adjustment

Connect the DC ammeter to J5003 on the PA-A
Unit.

Press and hold in the [1.8(1)], [3.5(2)], and [7(3)]
keys, while turning the radio on, to enter the
alignment mode.

Rotate the Main Tuning Dial knob to select the
alignment parameter “8-01 PDR”.

Press the PTT button, then adjust the
[CLAR(VFO-B)] knob so that the DC ammeter
reading is “100 mA (±5 mA)”.

Release the PTT button.
Drive Stage Idling Current Adjustment

Connect the DC ammeter to J5005 on the PA-A
Unit.

Rotate the Main Tuning Dial knob to select the
alignment parameter “8-02 DR1”.

Press the PTT button, then adjust the
[CLAR(VFO-B)] knob so that the DC ammeter
reading is “700 mA (±50 mA)”.

Release the PTT button.

Rotate the Main Tuning Dial knob to select the
alignment parameter “8-03 DR2”.

Press the PTT button, then adjust the
[CLAR(VFO-B)] knob so that the DC ammeter
reading is “700 mA (±50 mA)”.

Release the PTT button.
