viation Meter to the “ANT 1” Jack.
Set the VFO-A frequency to 28.700 MHz in the
FM mode.
Set the value of Menu item “056 F3E MIC ” to
“50”.
Connect the Audio Generator to
pin 8 of the MIC jack (pin 7:
GND), then set the output level
to 2 mV @1 kHz.
Press and hold in the [1.8(1)], [3.5(2)], and [7(3)]
keys, while turning the radio on, to enter the
alignment mode.
Rotate the Main Tuning Dial knob to select the
alignment parameter “V-02 F45”.

the Deviation Meter.
Release the PTT button.
Press the [NAR] button to set the VFO-A operat-
ing mode to the FM-N mode.
Rotate the Main Tuning Dial knob to select the
alignment parameter “V-03 F23”.

ond to save the new setting and exit the align-
ment mode.
SWR Meter Adjustment
Set the VFO-A frequency to 28.700 MHz in the
CW mode.
Connect the 50-Ohm Dummy Load and Wattme-
ter to the “ANT 1” Jack.
Connect the 1/4-inch 3-contact Plug to the KEY
jack (but, without the key).
Set the Multi Function Meter to “SWR” by press-
ing the [METER] button.
Disconnect the 3-pin plug from J1014 on the
MAIN Unit, then apply a 2.75 V DC voltage to
pin 2 of J1014, and 1.00 V DC to pin 3 of J1014.
Press and hold in the [1.8(1)], [3.5(2)], and [7(3)]
keys, while turning the radio on, to enter the
alignment mode.
Rotate the Main Tuning Dial knob to select the
alignment parameter “W-03 S30.”
Press the [MOX] button, then rotate the
[CLAR(VFO-B)] knob so that the SWR meter (on
the front panel) reading is “3.0”. The SWR meter
reading (3.0) is broad (few points). Therefore, set
the [CLAR(VFO-B)] knob to the center of this
broad range.
Release the [MOX] button.
Apply a 2.96 V DC voltage to pin 2 of J1014, and
1.00 V DC to pin 3 of J1014.
Rotate the Main Tuning Dial knob to select the
alignment parameter “W-06 S30.”
Press the [MOX] button, then rotate the
[CLAR(VFO-B)] knob so that the SWR meter (on
the front panel) reading is “3.0.” The SWR meter
reading (3.0) is broad (few points). Therefore, set
the [CLAR(VFO-B)] knob to the center of this
broad range.
Release the [MOX] button.
Apply a 3.81 V DC voltage to pin 2 of J1014, and
1.00 V DC to pin 3 of J1014.
Rotate the Main Tuning Dial knob to select the
alignment parameter “W-09 S30.”
Release the [MOX]button.
Press and hold in the [MENU] button for 2 sec-
