By
default, the
FT-51R offers 40 programma-
ble memory channels for each band. These con-
sist of 35 regular memories along with
5
special-purpose memories. Each memory is

Alpha-
numeric names (up to eight characters in length)
can be entered in place of the default labels if
so
desired (see
Naming Memories
on page 33).
Regu-
lar memory capacity can be expanded from 35
to
55 channels,
but the alphanumeric naming capabil-
ity
must
be
disabled.
If you don't plan to use mem-
ory naming, and would rather have expanded
memory capacity, read the procedure and notice
in the
box
below.
