1. Press the [ TUNE
] button briefly to activate the
Automatic Antenna Tuner.
The “
” icon will appear in the display.
If the transceiver frequency is out of the amateur
band, the “
” icon will not appear.
If the antenna SWR is High (more than 1:2.0), the
“
” icon will blink.
2. Press and hold in the microphone PTT switch.
With the transceiver in the “transmit” mode, press
and hold in the [
BAND
] button (to raise the an-
tenna) or the [ BAND
] button (to lower the an-
tenna). While you hold in one of these keys, the
FT-450D will generate a carrier, and you may
watch the SWR meter of the FT-450D , looking for
the meter indication to reach its minimum value.
When this is reached, release the [
BAND
] or
[
BAND
] button, then release the
PTT switch to
return to the “receive” mode.
