V. Reset of Settings and Hardware Reset
During first 10 seconds after powering on, the hidden button (shown on Figure 1
in Section I) switches the Gateway to emergency mode (see Section III.4). The reset
of settings is available in any mode after this phase.
Insert the paper clip (at a right angle to the device face) in the small hole in the end
plate of the Gateway. The status LED (green) of the Gateway will constantly shine
when the hidden button under the hole is pressed.
Wait 2-3 seconds and the LED will start flashing very fast. Release the button to reset
the Device’s settings. Otherwise, the LED will constantly shine again 2-3 seconds later.
Keep the button pressed ten seconds more, and the LED starts flashing again. Release
the button to complete hardware reset of the Gateway. Alternatively, wait two seconds,
and the LED will again be on constantly.
Note that nothing happens if you release the button when the LED light is on
constantly. The settings reset occurs if you release the button during the first flashing
period, and the hardware reset occurs on the second period.
During settings reset, the Device changes all settings to factory values (returns
to «DHCP Magic» mode, restores the default password for the administrative web site,
etc.), and then reboots.
During hardware reset, the Gateway returns to the firmware version programmed
at the factory (the Device always keeps a copy of this version in EEPROM)
and to the factory settings. LED signals during firmware updates are described
in Section X. Hardware reset is normally not required. It can be used for firmware
rollback.
