Move Unread or Unvisited Meters to a Different Route
Moving unread or unvisited meters is accomplished using the Move Unread Meters or
Move Unvisited Meters options in the
Function
menu. It is still possible to move the unread
meters or to split them between devices using the traditional cut/copy and paste method,
but for moving ALL of the unread meters from one route to another, the Move Unread
Meters and Move Unvisited Meters functions are the easiest to use.
Note
:
Unread refers to a meter without a reading. Unvisited meters are meters without a note,
mark, answered question, completed work order, or a reading taken by the meter reader.
Moving unread meters may result in a larger group of meters being moved, since unread
meters will include accounts with one of these transactions left, but not a reading. An
account that is Unvisited has no transactions taken by the meter reader.
After readings have been taken with a HHD, Vehicle Unit, or PhonRead Scheduler and
processed into AutoRead by performing a Read Data command, the route's status should
be Complete (Data: Available) or Backup Required (Data: Available). If status is Backup
Required (Data: Available), it is recommended to first perform the Backup function on the
route, but it is not mandatory. Performing a Backup of the route prior to moving unread or
unvisited meters ensures that if a mistake is made, you can restore the route to its original
condition.
Another consideration when moving meters is to make sure that the destination route is
available to accept the moved meters. A route must be in either No Meters (Data: Not
Loaded) or Ready to Load (Data: Not Loaded) status in order to accept the unread/
unvisited meters. It is not possible to move meters to a route that has a status of Device
Loaded (Data: Loaded), Backup Required (Data: Available) or Complete (Data: Available). If
necessary, perform a Clear function on the destination route that will result in a No Meters
status.
