Chapter 3

Software Installation

This chapter tells you how to install the software required by an X3522.

Login

IMPORTANT! Root access is required for all software and firmware installations.

Ensure you are logged in to the X3522 host as root.

Installing the Network Software

This section tells you how to install the drivers required by an X3522 low latency network
adapter. Two drivers are required:

• Auxiliary bus driver.

• Network driver.

This section also tells you how to configure network settings for the host server and for a link
partner to which it can be connected.

Choose Which Packages To Use

The drivers are provided in two package formats. Choose the appropriate format to use:
