Original Orientation
Ensure that the document orientation is set to indicate the top of the document.
1.
On the Layout Adjustment tab, touch O
Orriiggiinnaall O
Orriieennttaattiioonn.
2.
Select the orientation for the document that is loaded.
3.
Touch SSaavvee.
Note: If the Original Orientation setting differs from the physical document orientation, the Xerox device can
mistakenly detect the wrong side as the top of the document.
Original Size
When you scan standard-sized and custom-sized documents or when you make copies at a size that is different
than the currently loaded document, you can specify the size of the document.

On the Layout Adjustment tab, touch O
Orriiggiinnaall SSiizzee.
2.
Select an option:
• A
Auuttoo D
Deetteecctt: The device detects the original document size.
• M
Maannuuaall SSiizzee IInnppuutt: Select a size from a pre-defined list or specify a custom page size.
• M
Miixxeedd SSiizzee O
Orriiggiinnaallss: The device detects the size automatically for each page of the original document.
3.
Touch SSaavvee.
Note: If the Xerox device cannot detect the document size, a screen appears where you can enter the
document size.
Edge Erase
When you scan using the document-feeder in the open position or from a book, you can remove the black shadows
along the edges using the Edge Erase feature.
1.
From the Layout Adjustments tab, select EEddggee EErraassee.

Select A
Allll EEddggeess or IInnddiivviidduuaall EEddggeess:
• All Edges: This option erases the same amount of length from all four edges of your document. The edge
erase amount is specified by the system administrator. If you do not want to erase any edges, select
[[IInnddiivviidduuaall EEddggeess]], then specify 00 for the top, bottom, left, and right edges.
• Individual Edges: This option allows you to specify the lengths to be erased from the top, bottom, left, and
right edges of your document. You can specify up to 50 mm (2 in.) in each field.
3.
For individual edges, to set the values, use the up or down arrow buttons.
4.
For Original Orientation, select an option:
• U

maaggeess: This option selects the vertical orientation, where the top of the document is oriented
toward the back of the printer.
• SSiiddeew
waayyss IIm
maaggeess: This option selects the horizontal orientation, where the top of the document is
oriented toward the left of the printer.
5.
Select SSaavvee.
