Cleaning and Maintenance
Service Maintenance Procedures
Perform the following procedures whenever you check, service, or repair a
printer. Cleaning the printer, as outlined in the following steps, assures proper
operation of the printer and reduces the probability of having to service the
printer in the future.
The frequency of use, Average Monthly Print Volume (AMPV), type of media
printed on, and operating environment are factors in determining how critical
cleaning the machine is and how often it is necessary. Record the number of
sheets printed.
Consumables/Routine Maintenance Items
To ensure that the machine produces good print quality and to extend its
service life, it is recommended that the maintenance procedures described in
this section are followed.
The maintenance parts should be replaced following the quoted page counts
in the life expectancy column in the following table.
Note
Maintenance conditions are based on A4 or Letter, Standard mode, and
Energy Saver.
