• Stacker Auto Switching Rules - When one stacker is empty, select a method the system follows to
switch automatically to another stacker. The default, Closest Stacker First, allows the system to switch
to the closest available stacker.
•
To switch to the next stacker in the configuration, select Round Robin. The last stacker switches
to the first stacker.
-
-
To fill both the inner and outer stacks before switching to the next stacker in the configuration,
select Fill One Stacker at a Time.
• Lead Edge Smear Optimization Mode - If you observe a granular or darkened image near the leading
edge of the printed sheet, select this check box. This smear defect occurs during printing when the
transfer of toner sticks and slips near the leading edge of the sheet. To reduce or eliminate leading
edge smear, enable this mode. The system gradually applies the lamination force, which helps the
toner adhere to the sheet. It is recommended you run a sample print before using on your production
job.
• Lead Edge Deletion Optimization Mode - If you observe a faint image or toner deletion near the
leading edge of the sheet, select this check box. This defect can occur when there is a small gap
between the photoreceptor belt and the sheet. To improve ink transfer at the lead edges, enable this
mode. When printing, the system immediately applies the lamination force, which helps the toner
adhere to the sheet. It is recommended you run a sample print before using on your production job.
System: Advanced User Diagnostics
If the Xerox Productivity Plus (XPP) or XPP Basic service options are enabled, this diagnostic mode is
intended for and accessed by a trained customer operator only. The trained operator logs onto and
accesses these advanced diagnostics to perform certain repair and maintenance procedures without
the need to contact Service. For more information, refer to your XPP documentation or contact a Xerox
sales representative.
Adjustments
The Xerox Nuvera is designed to work in Production publishing environments and perform a high volume
of printing. Because of this, the machine may require slight adjustments to keep it working effectively.
Click the links at the left for details about adjusting the machine.
Managing Paper Curl
To remove upcurl or downcurl (an upwards or downwards bend) in the paper in the stacked output, your
Nuvera system provides the ability for you to make the necessary adjustments.
If your configuration does not include a Multifunction Finisher (MFF), you will use the Sheet Enhancement
Module (SEM) and the FreeFlow Print Server Adjust Decurler feature to achieve sheet flatness in the
stacker. If your configuration does include a MFF, you will adjust only the Decurler Knob located in the
print engine.
