SSL Encryption for HTTP Communication
Enabling SSL/TLS communication allows the printer to encrypt HTTP communication with
the computer over a network.
There are two ports than can use HTTP: the internet service port and the IPP port.
This feature allows you to encrypt information exchanged between the printer and
CentreWare Internet Services and print data sent to the printer using an IPP port.
The SSL/TLS protocol can be used to encrypt communication data. A certificate is also
required by SSL/TLS to decode encrypted communication.
A certificate can be created by CentreWare Internet Services.
Important
• This function cannot be used on the models that are sold in China (TL300416/TL300419).
Note
• To enable this feature on the DocuPrint C2100, the network expansion card (optional) must be installed.
Setting Encryption
This section explains the procedure for creating a certificate with CentreWare Internet
Services and making settings for encrypted communication. For more detailed information
about these procedures, see the Help files for CentreWare Internet Services.
Note
• If the optional network expansion LAN card is installed to another printer, the certificate is automatically
erased and the SSL/TLS server communication settings are disabled. In this situation, redo the settings
for using encryption on the printer and creating the certificate.
