Installing the Fax driver (Macintosh user only)
To use the Fax feature, Macintosh users must install the Fax driver onto their computer from the Software
Pack CD-ROM. Follow the procedure below to have your computer ready for Fax.
Installation Procedure (Mac OS 10.3.9 - 10.4.11 and 10.5)
1. Start Macintosh .
2. Insert the CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive.
3. Open MacOSX 10.3-10.5 folder.
4. Double-click C1190 FS FAX Installer .
The installer starts and the Authenticate window opens.

Enter the Administrator’s user name and password, then click OK .
6. Read through the license agreement carefully and if you have no objections to it, click Continue .

Click Agree .
8.
Confirm the Install Type . Click I nstall .
9. When the dialog box showing installation has completed appears, click Quit .
This completes the installation.
10. Proceed to the following procedure “Adding the Fax driver (Macintosh OSX 10.3.9 - 10.4.11)” or
“Adding the Fax driver (Macintosh OSX 10.5)”.
Adding the Fax driver (Macintosh OSX 10.3.9 - 10.4.11)
1.
Start Macintosh .
2.
Open Printer Setup Utility window.
The Printer List screen opens.
Note: For Mac OS X 10.3.9 and 10.4.11, open the Printer Setup Utility in the Utilities folder in the
Applications folder.

Click Add .
4.
From the Protocol drop down list, select Line Printer Protocol-LPD .
5. Enter the printer’s IP address in the Address entry box.

When using Mac OSX 10.3.9 , from the Printer Model drop down list, select FX .
When using Mac OSX 10.4.11 , from the Print using drop down list, select FX .
7. From the Printer List , select FX DocuPrint C1190 FS FAX driver.
8. Press the Add button.
9. Close the Printer List .
Adding the Fax driver (Macintosh OSX 10.5)
1. From Apple Menu, select System Preference .
2. Select Print & Fax .
3. Press +.
4. From the Protocol drop down list, select Line Printer Daemon-LPD .
5. Enter the printer’s IP address in the Address entry box.
6. From the Print using drop down list, select FX DocuPrint C1190 FS FAX driver.
7. Press the Add button.
8. Close the Print & Fax screen.
