Waste containers
The waste containers in the 4850/4890/92C NPS/IPS collect dry
ink and developer after it has been used by the printer. When a
container becomes full, it must be replaced, or the printer
eventually stops printing. This chapter contains the procedures
for replacing the dry ink and developer waste containers.
Checking and replacing the developer waste container
Waste from the developer housings is transported into a sealed
container located in the lower left corner at the front of the
printer. The waste material is a mixture of black and color
developer, and is not reusable.
When the message
REPLACE DEVELOPER WASTE CONTAINER
displays on the printer console, 1500 more prints can be
produced before the printer stops. The printer does not resume
printing until you replace the container. The Attention light is a
modulated yellow by this stage.
