covers and guards. Do NOT attempt any maintenance procedure that is NOT specifically
described in the documentation supplied with your device.

A Low Supply Warning message may appear on the control panel when the transfer roller is nearing
end of life.

If ghosting appears in printed output, check the percentage of remaining life for the transfer roller.
Replace the transfer roller when the percentage of remaining life is less than 20 percent. For details,
refer to

Note:

Each transfer roller includes installation instructions.

To replace the transfer roller:

1. Power off the printer, then disconnect the power cord from the printer.

2. Remove any paper from Tray 5.

3. Open the left side door of the printer.

WARNING:

The area around the fuser can be hot. Use caution to avoid injury.

4. Locate the transfer roller, labeled R4, in the printer side door.
