Testing the Water Level Detector
• Dip the sensor pad into a cup of water. The Water Level Detector sounds its beeper
and will stop about 15 seconds later. If you are using a Security Console, its siren
will also sound (the Console does NOT need to be armed for the Water Level
Detector to trip it). Stop the Console’s siren with your keyfob remote, or disarm
from the Console by entering your PIN.
Installing the Water Level Detector
• Pry off the cover using a coin and attach the Water Level Detector to the wall using
the mounting screws provided, and replace the cover. (Fit the Water Level Detector
as high above the fl oor as the wire between it and the sensor pad allows).
• Place the sensor pad on the fl oor, or attach it to a wall (using double-sided tape) at
the height (level) you want water to be detected.
Using the Water Level Detector as a stand-alone item
If you don’t own the SC1200 Security Console, you can use the Water Level
Detector on its own. Just pry the two halves of the Water Level Detector apart using
a coin and install two AAA alkaline batteries inside. Observe polarity. The Water
Level Detector is then ready to use. It will beep whenever the sensor pad is immersed
in water (and stop beeping about 15 seconds later).
Initializing Water Level Detectors
1. Pry the two halves of the Water Level Detector apart using a coin
and install two AAA alkaline batteries inside. Observe polarity.
2. Press and hold the button inside the unit for 3-4 seconds and then
release it. This initializes the unit and picks a random code that is
used when it is registered with your Security Console.
3. Attach the water sensor pad to the two screw terminals.
Registering Water Level Detectors with the Security Console
Press either of the Menu up/down buttons (under the Console’s lid, to the right of the
display). The display then shows ENTER PIN (Personal Identifi cation Number) in
the top line.
The default PIN is 0000, so press 0000 on the keypad, or enter your PIN if you
changed it (see Security System Owner’s Manual). This clears the top line and
shows * for each number entered.
This takes you to the fi rst level of the menu at step 1. This is the INSTALLATION
level. When you see INSTALL on the display, press OK. The display then looks like
this:
Press and hold the button inside the Water Level Detector. The Security Console
acknowledges that it has been registered with a chime and by displaying RMOT 1
SET. Note, the Water Level Detector will also sound its beeper, wait for about 15
seconds for it to stop.
Repeat this for any other Water Level Detectors you want to register. The display
increments to RMOT 2 SET, etc, as you install more Water Level Detectors.
