Overview 

The EM102 is utilized to provide an effective method of converting a 

previously installed analog PTZ solution into a solid IP solution without the 

need to replace a PTZ or its cabling. 
 

Warnings and Safeguards 

Prior to installation and use of this product, please observe the 

following warnings 

1.

 

Installation and servicing should be done by qualified personnel, 
and all work done should conform to local codes. 

2.

 

Using replacement parts or accessories other than Wren may 

invalidate the warranty. 

3.

 

The EM102 is designed to accept 12V DC power. 

4.

 

Make sure that your active network will assign an available 

IP address through DHCP when connecting this module for 

the first time.

Instructions 

1.

 

Connect the Video and Audio feed from the PTZ camera to 
their respective ports on the EM102. [Figure 1]

 

2.

 

If using RS232 communication with the PTZ connect one end of 

the camera control cable to the COM port on the module and 
the other end to the camera. [Figure 2]

 

3.

 

Connect a CAT5 cable from the LAN to the Ethernet jack on 

the EM102. [Figure 2]

 

4.

 

If using RS485 interface to communicate with the PTZ connect 
the control leads to the I/O terminal [Figure 2] according to the 

table below. 

 

5.

 

If applicable connect the alarm contacts and digital output to 

pins 1 through 4 on the I/O terminal according to the table 
below.
