5.2. STARTING THE PUMP
WARNING
□
Check that the suction pipe is properly connected to the suction port.
□
Check that the discharge pipe is properly connected to the discharge port.
□
Check that the suction hose is equipped with a strainer.
□
Check that the suction pipe is well set in water.
□
Check that the suction and discharge hose are free of narrow throats or bends.
□
Check that the priming of the pump has been carried out.
The following instructions apply to each starting:
1. JARD 7 H OHV : Press the priming bulb repeatedly until fuel can be seen in the clear-plastic
fuel-return tube [Fig. 19];
TP 36 H / TP 65 H / TP 110 H : Open the fuel valve [Fig. 20];
2. Put ON/OFF switch to ON (START) [Fig. 21];
3. Put the speed control [Fig. 22 or 23] to halfway [Fig. 24];
4. If the engine is cold, put the CHOKE LEVER to CHOKE (CLOSED) position [Fig. 25 or 26];
5. Slightly pull the Recoil starter rope until it becomes a bit difficult. This is the “compression” point.
Let the rope coil back to its initial position, then rapidly pull it [Fig. 27].

Do not fully pull the rope out and do not suddenly release it. Handle it gently until it is reeled in.

If the engine does not start, although you have tried several times, start above operations but first
put the CHOKE LEVER to CHOKE (CLOSED) position. [Fig. 25 or 26]
NOTE
If the engine does not start, although you have tried several times, contact your IMER dealer or
the closest After Sales Service.
RATED SPEED:
Once the engine has started:
1. Let the engine run, idle, for 3 minutes;
2. Put the CHOKE LEVER to RUN (OPEN) position [Fig. 28 or 29];
3. For self-priming, place speed control to fast position. [Fig. 30 or 31];
4. Adjust the pump flow using the accelerator lever..
