5.12 Blade Deflection
Perform the following steps to achieve proper blade deflection with the blade guides.
1.
Raise the carriage until the blade is 375 mm (15") above a bed rail. Measure the actual
distance with a tape from the top of the rail to the bottom of the blade.
2.
Install the blade guides. Make sure the two set screws shown are threaded into the blade
guide shaft until they touch each other.
See Figure 5-22.
3.
Loosen the bottom jam nut and tighten the top jam nut until the blade guide deflects the
blade down 6

0 mm (0.24").
4.
Repeat for the other blade guide.
NOTE:
Be sure that the blade guide touches the blade in both guide assemblies. The
outer blade guide should be checked with the arm all the way in and all the way out.
