Sawing Problems
PROBLEM
CAUSE
SOLUTION
Blades Dull Quickly
Dirty logs
Clean or debark logs, especially on
entry side of the cut
When grinding teeth, heating too
much and causing teeth to soften
Grind just enough metal to restore
sharpness to the teeth. Use
water/coolant while sharpening blade
Poor sharpening techniques
Make sure the tip is being sharpened
completely (See Sharpener Manual)
Blades Break Prematurely
Rubber belts on blade wheels worn to
a point that blade contacts metal
pulley - look for shiny spots on edge
of wheels
Change blade wheel belts (B-57)

Tension too tight
