Reverse polarity on outlet or unit (all burners)

Test the polarity of the outlet. If the polarity is
incorrect, consult an electrician.

Ground wire disconnected or loose at outlet or
inside unit (all burners)

Check for continuity between the unit's ground
and the ground terminal on another outlet. If
there is no continuity, consult an electrician.

Dirty ignitor
Clean with a wire brush or emery cloth.
Cracked or damaged ignitor
Replace the ignitor.
Spark module(s) wired incorrectly or defective
(single burner)
Rewire or replace the spark module(s).
Ignitor not positioned properly (single burner)
Seat the ignitor in the burner pan, or reposition the
ignitor.
Defective microswitch at burner valve (single
burner)
Replace the microswitch.
Cut or splice in electrode wire (single burner)
Replace the electrode wire.
Incorrect gas pressure
Check the gas pressure, and adjust it if necessary.
Incorrect gas type
Check the gas type, and change it if necessary.
Intermittent sparking at surface
burner
Dirty ignitor
Clean with a wire brush or emery cloth.
Cracked or damaged ignitor
Replace the ignitor.
Cut or splice in electrode wire
Replace the electrode wire.
Bad wire connection at spark module
Repair the wire connection.
Defective spark module
Replace the spark module.
Incorrect gas pressure
Check the gas pressure, and adjust it if necessary.
Poor ignition at surface burner(s)
Ignitor not positioned properly (single burner)
Seat the ignitor in the burner pan, or reposition the
ignitor.
Partially plugged ports in burner assembly
Clean as necessary.
Improper gas orifice
Check the orifice stamp number.
Gas pressure
Check the gas pressure with a manometer.
Improper gas type

Check the gas type.

If the gas type is incorrect, advise the owner. It
may be necessary to convert the unit's gas
type.
Defective microswitch at burner valve
Replace the microswitch.
Defective ignitor
Replace the ignitor.
Dirty ignitor
Clean the ignitor.
Defective wiring
Replace the wiring.
Loose wiring
Repair the wiring.
Defective spark module(s)
Replace the spark module(s).
No spark at burner assembly or
assemblies
No power (all burners)
Check the outlet and circuit breaker.
Electrode wire disconnected or damaged
Replace the electrode wire.
Loose or damaged wire to spark module
Reconnect the wire, or repair the wire harness.
Defective 1-point spark module
Replace the 1-point spark module.
Defective microswitch at burner valve
Replace the microswitch.
