4.2 Single Receptacle
Chapter 4: Removal, Replacement, and Adjustment Procedures
4. Remove the insulator (D), if so equipped.
5. Loosen the receptacle screws (E) until the receptacle (A) will pull away
from the device plate.
6. Note and record the positions of the color-coded wires (F).
7. Using the screwdriver, loosen the wire terminal screws just enough to
remove the wires (F) from the receptacle (A).
Replacement
1. Install the color-coded wires (F) to the proper terminals on the receptacle
(A).
2. Tighten the terminal screws on the receptacle (A).
3. Align the receptacle screws (E) with the holes in the raceway, and install
the receptacle (A) on the raceway.
4. Install the insulator (D), if so equipped.
5. Install the faceplate (C) with screws (B) on the raceway.
6. Remove the lock out and out-of-service tags.
7. Set the circuit breaker to the ON position.
8. Test the receptacle (A) for availability of power.
